Ann Elsie Falbo, 89, of Seymour CT, the beloved wife of the late John R. Falbo passed peacefully from this world surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 27, 2014 after a brief illness at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Ann was born in West Hartford,CT on June 2, 1924 the daughter of the late John and Helen Makonis Garcia. Ann survived the Great Depression and married her husband John right after WWII. She was a devout communicant of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Ann was a retired Sales Clerk having worked for Kings Department Store and then Ames Department Store of Seymour. Ann loved to dance and go RV camping with her husband John. When Ann reached retirement she fulfilled her lifelong dream of working in healthcare. She was a 30 year volunteer at Griffin Hospital in the Same Day Surgery Unit and always had a good word and a smile for everyone. She was loved and will be sorely missed by both family and friends. Ann's loving family includes her two devoted daughters, Lynn Miller of New Port Richey, FL and Joyce Falbo of Watertown, CT. Ann is also survived by many nephews and nieces who she loved dearly Robert Falbo ( Weslie ), MaryJo MacDonald ( Richard ), Jolynn Van Wart ( David ), Maryann Kowalsky ( Donald ), Ralph Falbo ( Margaret ), Marie Criscuolo (Joseph ). She will be missed by her best friend Dolores Popowski and daughter Terri. Ann was predeceased by Samuel Falbo, Ralph Falbo Sr., Rosemary Immaculato, Richard Falbo. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Ann's Life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 30 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in Ann's memory may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd Improvement Fund or St. Jude's Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
