Anne Marie Smith

Anne Marie Smith, age 66, of Hamden, beloved sister, aunt and friend entered into rest on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. She was born in Long Island, New York on July 21, 1950 to the late Luke and Etta Smith. Anne made her career as Director of Family Assistance Programs at the Society of ST. Vincent De Paul. She established the Uplift Program throughout the U.S developing guidelines for providing monthly assistance for needy families. Anne loved crafts and watching old movies, but mostly spending time with her family. She leaves behind her two sisters, Lorraine Smith and Maureen Willoughby (Graham) and her five brothers, Patrick Smith (Judy), Luke Smith ( Nita), Mark Smith (Lillian), Billy Smith and Terry Smith. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Anne was most happy when she was surrounded by her family and will be missed greatly by all that knew her. Calling hours will be held at Miller Ward Funeral home on Sunday, July 2, from 11 -3 with a service immediately following.
