Beatrice Mcgowan

Beatrice Greta Reilly McGowan, age 90, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late James F. McGowan Jr., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Griffin Hospital. She was born in Taunton,Mass., on September 4, 1922, the daughter of the late Phillip and Beatrice Mallette Reilly. She was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church. She graduated from St. Mary High School in Taunton,Mass. Beatrice worked for the Seymour Public Health Nursing and later worked as an assistant in the Town of Seymour Tax Collector's Office. She was an avid homemaker. Beatrice loved being with the her friends and family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. Beatrice was the oldest of eight children in The Reilly Family. She was the sister of Ethel Dodenhoff of Raynham, MA, Marie Pacheco of Taunton, MA and the late Joan Roy, Phyllis Bates, Elizabeth Sylvia, Myles Reilly and Philip Reilly, Jr. Her family includes her caring sons James P. McGowan and his wife Marci of Pheonix,Az., John P. McGowan and his wife Patricia of Madison and Robert C. McGowan of Seymour, a loving daughter Karen Ploski and her husband Stanley of Seymour, nine cherished grandchildren and eight cherished great-grandchildren, several loving nieces and nephews. Beatrice was predeceased by her beloved son Peter J. McGowan. Abiding by Beatrice's wish her Funeral Mass at St. Augustine Church and Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Beatrice's memory to The Seymour Land Conservation Trust, through the funeral home.
