Carmela Petrone

Carmela Marie Modugno Petrone, age 85, of Oxford, formerly of Stamford, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Ansonia. The beloved wife of the late Ralph G. Petrone, Sr. She was born on May 22, 1927 in Stamford, Ct., daughter of the late Felice and Rosa Garutti Modugno. She was formerly employed as a legal secretary for Hilti, Inc. Carmela moved from Stamford to Oxford seven years ago. She was a devout communicant for St. Mary's Church in Stamford. She was an avid golfer and reader, a great cook and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She especially loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time at her residence in Florida. Her loving family includes her son, Ralph G. Petrone, Jr. and his wife Christine of South Jordan, Utah, and two daughters, Deborah A. Petrone of Ansonia and Wendy L. Petrone of Milford, a sister Lee Skidd of Southbury, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date followed by Inurnment at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Stamford. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Carmela's memory to The Center for Cancer Care @ Griffin Hospital, 350 Seymour Ave., Derby, CT 06418.
