Carol Jean Salatto

Carol Jean Salatto, age 85, a long time 50 yr. resident of Bethany, formally of West Haven and Branford, the beloved wife of the late Ralph Salatto, Sr., peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 7, 2016 , surrounded by her loving family at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in West Haven on October 20,1930, the daughter of the late Marvin and Mary (Prince) Saunders. Mrs. Salatto was an avid homemaker. She enjoyed playing bocce and bowling. Carol loved her flowers , garden and especially frequenting the casino. She also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Carol will be sadly missed by her family and friends but will remain forever in their hearts. Carol is survived by her loving devoted daughter Paula (John) Velardi of Bethany, her loving son Ralph Salatto, Jr. of Bethany, a caring sister Barbara Slater of Bethany, four cherished grandchildren Nicole Velardi, John Michael Velardi and Nicholas Velardi all of Bethany and Collin Salatto of Cheshire and several nieces and nephews. Carol is predeceased by a brother Marvin Saunders and two sisters Betty Withington and Doris Sykes. A Graveside Service in Celebration of Carol's Life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 11:00 am (Directly) at Carrington Cemetery, Rainbow Rd., Bethany at 11:00 am. There will be no calling hours. The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour, is compassionately caring for the family. Memorial gifts in Carol's memory may be made to The Bethany Volunteer Ambulance Corps, through the funeral home.
