Dino Joseph DeAngelis, age 68, of Seymour, formerly of Bethany and Prospect, the beloved husband of Mary Ann Bowen DeAngelis , entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Griffin Hospital. He was born in Leominister, Mass., on March 18, 1944, the son of the late Lorenzo and Tecla Laurenzi DeAngelis. Dino was a devout communicant of The Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour and St. Joseph Church of Ansonia. He was a Foreman for Metro-North Railroad for 30 years prior to his retirement. He graduated from Ansonia High School Class of 1963. Dino attended The University of Maryland and then went onto graduate from The Connecticut School of Electronics. He served with pride and honor as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Dino was an avid fisherman, loved boating and enjoyed painting and playing chess. Dino will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife Mary Ann, his loving family includes his two caring sons Mark DeAngelis of Naugatuck and Jeffery DeAngelis of Seymour, a loving daughter Cynthia Ann DeAngelis of Falls Church, Va., four cherished granddaughters Destiny DeAngelis, Felicia Giamattei, Angelina Wyda and Brinda DeAngelis, several nieces and nephews. Dino was predeceased by his four beloved brothers Robert J. DeAngelis, John A. DeAngelis Sr. ,Lawrence A. DeAngelis and Virginio R. DeAngelis. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Dino's life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Military Honors will be accorded following the Mass. Interment in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery Seymour, will be in the Spring. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Dino's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or The Shriners Hospitals for Children (Office of Development), 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
