Dominic Viglione, Sr., 84, of Seymour, the beloved husband of 59 years of Claire Espinola Viglione, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lawrence, MA on August 11, 1929 the beloved son of Americo and Anne D'Angelo Viglione. Dominic was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour. He was a graduate of the East Coast Aero Tech of Lexington, MA and received his certification in aircraft and engineering. Dominic retired in 1987 after 32 years of employment with Sikorsky Aircraft of Stratford where he was Supervisor of Quality Assurance. He served proudly in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He moved to Seymour from Ansonia in 1962. Dominic enjoyed repairing and collecting clocks and playing the piano. He was a member of the American Watch and Clock Association and was an active member of the Oxford Senior Citizens. His loving family includes his beloved wife Claire and his caring son Dominic Viglione, Jr. of New Ipswich, NH and his devoted brother Americo Viglione, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Methuen, MA, five cherished grandchildren and six cherished great grandchildren, several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lorraine Petrocelli. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Dominic's life will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St.,( opposite Klarides Village Rt. 67), Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Military honors will be accorded following the Mass. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Abiding by Dominic's wishes there will be no calling hours. Memorial gifts in Dominic's memory may be made to the Connecticut Hospice Home Care, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
