Dora (Rene) Campanelli Wheeler, age 82, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Herbert L. Wheeler, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at her home peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Shelton on November 18, 1927, beloved daughter of the late Mariano and Stella Gaspari Campanelli. Dora was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour and was a member of its Bingo Committee and the Our Lady Society of the Church. She was an avid homemaker and a member of the David S. Miles American Legion Unit 174 of Oxford. Dora was a member of the Beacon Falls Senior Center and was a member of the 8 and 40 Club. She moved to Seymour from Shelton 49 years ago. Dora will be sadly missed by her family and many friends and especially by her cherished grandchildren. Her loving family includes her devoted sons Timothy P. Wheeler and his wife Elizabeth of Seymour, Carl L. Wheeler of Naugatuck and James J. Wheeler Sr, of Seymour, her loving daughter Nora Jean Croteau and her husband Gary of Beacon Falls, her beloved brother Quinto Campanelli of Shelton, her loving sister Claire Confinante of Ansonia, her six cherished grandchildren Carla Jean Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler, Danielle Croteau, James Wheeler Jr, Victoria Wheeler and Chantel Wheeler, her loving sisters-in-law Katherine Lesnick of Seymour and Peggy Pace of Norwalk and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Herbert, her cherished son Richard John Wheeler and several brothers and sisters. Friend and relatives have been asked to go DIRECTLY on Friday, October 22, 2010 to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour for a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour, will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The David S. Miles American Legion Unit 174 members will conduct a service at the funeral home at 6:00 pm on Thursday night.
