Doris Brochu Forcier

Doris Jeanette Brochu Forcier, 73, of Oxford, beloved wife of 55 years to Rene Forcier, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. She was born in Bridgeport on May 13, 1938, daughter of the late Joseph and Jeanette Girad Brochu. Doris was formerly employed as a credit investigator for the Sears Roebuck Company of Norwalk. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a former member of the David S. Miles Post 174 American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary of Oxford. She was an avid YMCA member, where she loved aqua exercising. She loved to camp and travel and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Her loving family, in addition to her husband, Rene, includes her caring sons, Kevin Forcier and his wife, Sharon, of St. Johnsville, NY and Daniel Forcier of Oxford; two sisters, Jeannette Licari of Norwalk and Lorraine Boulanger of Bristol; six cherished grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Cheryl Forcier Hayden and her beloved sons, Rene Forcier, Jr. and Alfred J. Forcier and two brothers, Joseph and Norman Brochu. A Prayer Service in celebration of Doris' life will be offered on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2011 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour (Route 67 - across from Klarides Village) with Father Dominic J. Valla, Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, officiating. Interment in the family plot at Brookside Cemetery, Oxford, will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am until the service at 11:00 am.
