Doris Deptula, age 98, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Harry Deptula, entered into eternal rest peacefully, with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. She was born in Derby on December 12, 1917, the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Vergan Wallace. Doris was a long time Seymour resident and a faithful communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd and St. Augustine Church, both of Seymour. She worked at several small machine shops throughout the Valley, was an active member of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary and enjoyed going to local festivals and events like the Big E and the Seymour Pumpkin Festival. Most of all, Doris enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends at many parties, picnics and holiday celebrations. She will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. Her beloved family includes her loving daughter Marilyn Fitol and her husband Michael, her cherished grandson Mike and several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Franklin and her sisters Lillian and Louise. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Doris' life will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village) Seymour. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:30 am until the start of services at 10:00 am.
