Edward Joseph Cronin, Jr., age 93 of Seymour, the beloved husband of Florence Talemal Cronin, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side. Edward was born in Bridgeport, on July 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Julia (Kane) Cronin, Sr.
Edward was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church.
He served with pride and honor in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sargent during the Korean War. Ed was a retired welder by trade. He worked for Ansonia Steel Fabrication Company, he also worked for Lewis Corporation, Fairfield, CT.
Edward enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. He was the Quartermaster for the Vanguard All Girls Drum and Bugle Corps and was also a member of the Seymour Civil Defense . He will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.
In addition to his beloved wife Florence, Ed’s loving family includes his daughter Barbara (Ray) Delaney of Bristol, Ct. three sons William (Janeese) Cronin of North Richland Hills, Tx., James (Roisin)Cronin of Union City, Ct., and Michael (Susan) Cronin of Ansonia, his brother John (Ellen) Cronin of Seymour, his nine caring grandchildren and twelve cherished great-grandchildren. Edward was predeceased by his sister Ann Greywacz and brother Richard Cronin,
A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Edward’s Life will be held on Wednesday, April24 2024, at 10:30a m (Directly) at St. Augustine Church-St. Nicholas Parish, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour. Inurnment will be held privately by the family at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Edward 's memory may be made to St. Augustine Church-St. Nicholas Parish or Autism Research, through the funeral home.
