Eleanor Harriet (Haversat) Flach, age 96, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Melvin E. Flach entered into peaceful rest on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Griffin Hospital. She was born in Derby on June 1, 1927, the beloved daughter of the late William Haversat and Harriet (Crowther) Haversat.
Eleanor was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford for many years. While family was most important to her, she enjoyed her work within the retail business. Eleanor was a member of both the Seymour and Oxford Senior Center’s, where she enjoyed spending time and formed many friendships. She was fond of knitting, crocheting and making crafts, including dolls. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her beloved family and friends.
Eleanor will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts.
Eleanor’s loving family includes her beloved son Gary Flach (Dana) of Oxford, her caring daughter-in-law Elizabeth Flach of Oxford, her three cherished grandsons, Brian Flach (Rachel) of MA, Matthew Flach (Jill) of Seymour and Michael Flach of Oxford, her treasured great-granddaughter Savannah Flach of Oxford, her loving brother Raymond Haversat (Ann Tricarico) of Oxford, and her dear friend Linda Laudano of Seymour. She also enjoyed her visits with her nieces, nephews and cousins. Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved son, Mark (Flash) Flach in 2023 and her brother, Earl Haversat.
A Memorial Service in Celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) in Seymour, with the Reverend Larry Wogman, Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford, officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the Seymour Ambulance Fund, through funeral home. Acts of kindness are always welcomed.
