Elston P. Stevens

Elston P. Stevens, age 81, of Oxford, the beloved husband of Barbara A. Devine Stevens, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, November 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waterbury on September 2, 1939, son of the late George Edward and Tessie Oladovich Stevens. Elston was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour. Elston worked as a Machine Operator for the Kerite Company for 42 years before his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Woodbury/Southbury Rod and Gun Club. Elston was an avid fisherman and enjoyed family vacations and trips to Wildwood. Most of all, Elston loved to spend time with his family and will be sadly missed by all and remain forever in our hearts. In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, his loving family includes his two devoted sons, Timothy Stevens and his wife Jan of Ansonia and Gregory Stevens and his wife Jennifer of Seymour, his brother Murleen Stevens and his wife Lynn of Waterbury, his two sisters Peggy Piccolo and Lenore Schrier both of FL, his four loving grandsons Michael, James, Connor and Samuel and several nieces and nephews. Elston was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 19 at 10:30 am DIRECTLY at St. Nicholas Parish, Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. Due to COVID-19, guests will be asked to wear masks and to adhere to social distancing requirements at all times. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Elston's memory may be made to Seymour Pink, ,through the funeral home.
