Esther Tong

Esther Florence Tong, age 95, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Chester, PA on September 19, 1915 beloved daughter of the late Albert T. and Mary Lavin Tong. Esther worked in the Insurance Department and later became a Bank Teller of the former Seymour Trust Company of Seymour. She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church of Seymour and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She moved to Seymour from Chester, PA in 1927. Esther will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her loving family includes her devoted brothers Albert J. Tong and his wife Patricia of Clearwater, FL and Robert T. Tong and his wife Elene of Largo, FL, her beloved sister, with whom she resided, Mary L. Sullivan, her 9 cherished nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Gilyard. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Esther's life will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 9:15 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour. Interment in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour will follow the Mass. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8:15 am until the start of the service at 9:15 am.
