Eugenia (Jean) Ververis Stefan, 65, of Waterbury, formerly of Beacon Falls, entered into rest, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at St. Mary Hospital, Waterbury. She was born in Bridgeport on August 26, 1945, daughter of the late Stelios and Angela Amato Ververis. Jean was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Bridgeport. She was employed as a cashier of the former Klarides Market of Seymour. She moved to Waterbury from Beacon Falls in 1999. Jean was an avid homemaker, a voracious reader, loved to cook, and enjoyed going to the theater. She loved being with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Her loving family includes her sons, Steve J. Stefan and his wife, Regina, of Waterbury and Christopher J. Stefan and his wife, Heather, of Naugatuck; her daughter Terry A. Doyle and her husband, Warren, of Johnson City, TN; and three cherished grandsons, Christopher, Nicholas, and Matthew Stefan. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Calliope (Cleo) Ververis. A Prayer Service will be held on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2010 at 9:00 am at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, (Route 67 across from Klarides Village) Seymour, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT, with Father Demetrios Recachinas officiating. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. Interment will be in the family plot at Lakeview Cemetery,Bridgeport.
