Eunice Buchholz

Eunice Buchholz, age 93, formerly of Seymour, devoted wife of 65 years to the late Frederick A. Buchholz, Sr., peacefully entered into eternal rest at Jefferson House in Newington, Ct. on March 10, 2018, while surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Ansonia, Eunice earned her nursing degree from St. Vincent School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport and Griffin Hospital in Derby. After relocating her young family of six children from Shelton to Seymour in 1960, she became a parishioner of St. Augustine church, and later remained a devoted communicant of Church of the Good Shepard, from its establishment in 1967 until her move to Newington in 2013. She enjoyed spending time with her family and the many new friends she made while living at Cedar Mountain Commons and Jefferson House for the past five years. Eunice is survived by sons Frederick Jr. and wife Lorraine, Robert, Christopher and wife Catherine, Michael and wife Judith, daughters Nancy Marsden and husband Tim, Paulette Buchholz and husband Brian Highhouse, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Born the eldest of seven children, she is also survived by her brother Leo Moran. To all the wonderful people at Jefferson House, especially the Hitchcock staff, thank you for the exceptional care and friendship you gave to Eunice. A Memorial Service and Celebration will be held at 10:00am on Saturday March 17, 2018 at the Church of the Good Shepard, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will be at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, 117 Mountain Rd. Seymour. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson House, 1 John H. Stewart Dr., Newington, Ct.
