Florence T. Laskowski, age 94, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 27, 1917 in Stamford, Connecticut and was the daughter of Teofilia and Jan Burzinski. She is preceded in death by husband Alexander and her brothers, Benjamin, Stanley, John, Alex, Joseph and Edward. Her brothers were recognized by the national media during WWII for all being in the service at the same time. She was also preceded in death by her grandsons Joseph Yablonski and Wayne Yablonski. Florence is survived by daughters Anne Yablonski, Jean Hart and husband Donald Hart, and Wanda Szarmach, and sons Victor Laskowski and wife Joan, and Andrew Laskowski and wife Diane. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was a long -standing member of the Women's Marine Corp League Auxiliary and a member of the local Civil Defense team at one time. Being a resident of Seymour for the past 72 years, she was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Seymour. She devoted her life to her family who will miss her dearly. Her children would like to thank the healthcare providers, nursing staff, wonderful recreation department and administrative staff of Shady Knoll Health Care in Seymour for their care of our mother. They are also very thankful for the excellent care given by the nurses and staff at the Griffin Hospital, 2nd floor, 2 North Unit and for the excellent hospice care given by the staff at Griffin which was caring, gentle and very supportive. The family also very much appreciated the comfort shawls donated by the Griffin Hospital Caring and Creativity project. A loving thank you goes out for all of their help and support during this difficult time. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Florence's life will be held on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2012 at 10:00 am (DIRECTLY) at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour will follow. Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
