Frederick Trede,

Frederick Joseph Trede, Sr. age 79, of Southbury, formerly of Oxford, was born March 28, 1933 entered into eternal rest with his loving family around him on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was the son of the late Joseph and Wanda Wydokur Trede of Monroe. He is survived by his wife Gloria of 56 years this September 29th, and their three children Fred Trede Jr. of Oxford, Laurie and Lawrence Varholak of Southbury and Michael and Kelly Trede of Sandy Hook, his five grandchildren Nicholas, Eric and Lauren Varholak of Southbury, Tyler and Tanner Trede of Sandy Hook, a brother Joseph Trede and his wife Mafolda of Monroe and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft and Stevenson Lumber Company for 52 years. Frederick was a member of the Monroe Fire Department and the Hattertown Rod & Gun Club of Newtown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford, he was the recipient of the St. Joseph Medal for his countless years of supporting his church. But the biggest joy was being with his grandchildren and going to all their sporting events. He was a NY Giants fan, he spent many tailgate parties at his children's homes. He loved his life and his family and despite his illness Frederick made the best of it always, his strength and will was remarkable. The family greatly appreciated the wonderful and loving care provided by the health care professionals that supported Frederick at home in his last days, those at Vitas Hospice at St. Mary's Hospital and the many friendships he made along his journey in life they were most precious to him. Funeral Services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church ,733 Oxford Rd., Oxford on ,Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Inurnment will follow in Southford Cemetery, Southford, with full military honors being accorded.
