Harriet Ducharme

Harriet Fischer Uhelsky Ducharme, age 84, of Derby, formerly of Seymour and Ansonia, the beloved wife of the late Joseph Ducharme and the late Andrew Uhelsky, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Shady Knoll Healthcare of Seymour surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Beacon Falls on April 24, 1927, daughter of the late William and Ida Duboise Fischer. Harriet was a former Assembler for the Uniroyal Corp. of Naugatuck and formerly was employed as a Clerk at both Grants Department Store and Kings Department Store. She was an avid Bingo player, liked going to the casinos, was an avid homemaker and gardener and loved being with her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all. Harriet's loving family includes her son Robert Uhelsky and his wife Barbara of Seymour, her daughters Kathryn Sokolowski and her husband Peter of Beacon Falls, Diane Corbett and her husband James of Derby and Jane Frosceno and her husband Jeffrey of Seymour, five cherished grandchildren Jennifer and Brian Sokolowski, Andrew and Frankie Frosceno and Jon Corbett, three cherished great grandchildren Brittany, Brett and Emma and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her cherished grandson Douglas Cole, Jr., her six beloved sisters Marion Fischer, Evelyn Martino, Grace Fischer, Vivian Hawks, Agnes Verria and Joan Spakowski and her brothers Edward Fischer, US Army Private William Raymond Fischer, who was lost during World War II and Clayton Fischer. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Harriet's life will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village) Seymour. Interment will follow in the family plot at Pines Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
