Helen Sarafin

Helen Sarafin, age 81, of Waterbury, formerly of Seymour, entered into rest on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital. She was born in Seymour on March 8, 1929, beloved daughter of the late John and Julia Bauer Sarafin. Helen was a graduate of Bullard Havens Technical School in Bridgeport and was a retired Graphic Artist for the Chemical Color Plate Company of Bridgeport. She was a member of the Seymour Congregational Church and was a long time, active member of the Seymour Senior Citizens Center. Helen will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Her loving family includes her three devoted nephews Robert Kogelis and his wife Susan of Waterbury, Kristopher Kogelis of Waterbury and Victor Kogelis of Florida, her two caring great nieces Sabrina Kogelis of Waterbury and Amber Kogelis of Florida, her loving great nephew Aaron Kogelis of Waterbury and her cherished great great niece Khrystalyn Lafo of Waterbury. Helen was predeceased by her brother John Sarafin and her sister Virginia Kogelis. A Funeral Service in Memory of Helen's Life will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour, with the Rev. Gregory Dawson, Pastor of the Seymour Congregational Church, officiating. Interment in the family plot at Pines Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, will follow. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 am until the start of the service at 11:00 am.
