Irene Blackwood

Irene Mary Lepage Blackwood, 59, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on October 11, 1952, beloved daughter of Emile and Dolores Camire Lepage of Derby. Irene was a faithful member of the Southbury Baptist Church, where she was also Treasurer. She was employed as a Clinical Scientist at Unilever Corp. of Trumbull, where she had worked for several years. Irene was a graduate of Derby High School. She had a faithful relationship with Jesus and enjoyed knitting, cake decorating, scrapbooking, and was an avid homemaker. Irene will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Her loving family, in addition to her parents, includes her caring son, Neill Blackwood of Washington, DC; her beloved daughter, Amanda Blackwood and her fiance, Eric Johnson, of Salem, VA; her loving sister, Peggy Petruccelli and her husband, Stephen, of Wallingford; her friend and former husband, William G. Blackwood of Seymour; two cherished nieces, Stefani Petruccelli of Wallingford and Emily Petruccelli of Meriden; and a cherished great nephew, Michael Negron of Meriden. She was predeceased by a cherished niece, Mallory Petruccelli. A Memorial Service in celebration of Irene's life will be held on THURSDAY, JANUARY 12, 2012 at 11:00 am (DIRECTLY) at the Southbury Baptist Church, 114 Roxbury Road, (Route 67), Southbury. Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (across from Klarides Village), Seymour on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
