Jacquelin Ann Dresel, 84, of Oxford the beloved wife of the late John V. Dresel entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hollis, New York on July 7, 1929 the daughter of the late John A. and Florence Dibbons Sullivan. Jacquelin was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford and was a former Eucharistic Minister at the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, Florida. She had been employed as a loan officer by the Great Country Bank of Ansonia for many years. She did volunteer work for the Oxford Senior Citizens. Jacquelin enjoyed spending time at the beach, was an avid reader, loved shopping, knitting and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her loving family includes her caring daughter Alana Flach and her husband Joseph of Oxford, beloved sons Sean Dresel and his wife Lynn of Bedford, MA, Patrick Dresel and Michael Dresel of Kentucky, a loving brother John Sullivan of Elmont, NY and sister Mary Dimanno of Framingham, MA, her eight cherished grandchildren Ryan and Timmy Flach, Shauna and Stephen Dresel, Nora, Jackie and Patricia Dresel, Jennifer and John Dresel, two cherished great grandchildren Maria and Christopher and several nieces and nephews. Jacquelin was predeceased by her sisters Florence Kates and Margaret Harding. A heartfelt thank you from Jacquelin's family to Sharon Goodhue and Patricia Fedak for all their love and support. A Funeral Service in celebration of Jacquelin's life will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 9:00 a.m. at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Rt. 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m.at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford 06478. Interment in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery, Shelton will follow the Mass. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in Jacquelin's memory may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
