James G. Boyers

James G. Boyers, age 88, of Oxford, formerly of Bethany, the beloved husband for 64 years to Kathryn Daley Boyers, entered into rest peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was born in New Haven on June 7, 1930, son of the late George and Lillian Wilder Boyers. Jim proudly served his country in the National Guard and as a Corporal in the United States Army. He retired from Winchester Repeating Arms Company after 39 years as a Receiver Polisher for the company. His loving family includes his two sons Daniel Boyers and his fiance Debra and Douglas Boyers, his four daughters Debra Perez and her husband Oscar, Donna Gaetano and her husband Carmen, Doreen Quatrella and her husband Joe and Diane Mierzejewski and her husband Ron, his eight cherished grandchildren and his seven cherished great grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his sisters Anna Boyers, Marion Fragillo and Olympia Fusco. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour. All other services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts in Jim's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Animal Haven through the funeral home.
