James J. Breda, Sr

James J. Breda, Sr., age 74, of Seymour, the beloved husband of the late Leola Aksentis Breda, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his home. He was born in Derby on February 6, 1941, son of the late James V. and Sally DiDonato Breda. Jim was a long time resident of Seymour and was the proud owner of Jim's Auto Top and Upholstery. He was a member of the Seymour Fish and Game Club, an NRA member, and an avid Skeet Shooter. Jim enjoyed playing cards at many of the local Senior Centers and took many trips to the casinos to play as well. He enjoyed traveling abroad, watching football and had a passion for automobiles. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and many friends and will forever be in their hearts. His loving family includes his two sons James J. Breda, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Harwinton and Jonathan J. Breda of Bethlehem, his three brothers Andrew Breda and his wife Roseanne, Albert Breda and his wife Jan and Timothy Breda, his three cherished grandchildren Alexa, Brianna and Jonathan and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceases by his loving son Jeffrey J. Breda. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Jim's life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will be in the family plot at Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
