Jeannette E. Loughlin

We are sad to announce the passing of our mom, Jeannette E. Loughlin, age 85, of Shelton, on February 21,2025 at Griffin Hospital.

Jeannette was born in Derby, Connecticut on 11/22/1939, the daughter of the late Samuel and Jane Filanowski. Jeannette was a devout communicant of the Church of Good Shepard of Seymour. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all but remain forever in our hearts.

Jeannette attended St. Michaels elementary school and graduated from Shelton High school in the class of1957. She resided in Seymour from 1965 until 2024 and until recently at Wesley Heights in Shelton. She worked for 20 years at Caldor in Derby but primarily supported her family at home as a loving caretaker for her husband, children and grandchildren.

Jeannette is survived by her daughter Susan Loughlin of Shelton, son William Loughlin Jr and daughter in law Fatos Loughlin of Wallingford, grandchildren Olivia Loughlin of Durham, Avery Timmons ofSalisbury, Md, Jordon Janaskie of Salisbury, Md, Elizabeth Loughlin of Seymour, Kathryn Loughlin of Seymour, and Kevin Loughlin of Oxford as well as (6) great grandchildren.

Jeannette is also survived by her brother Samuel Filanowski and his wife Patricia of Seymour and her sister Barbara Szymanski and her husband Robert of Shelton.

Jeannette was predeceased by her husband William T. Loughlin Sr. and daughter Linda Janaskie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025,from 9:45 am until 10:45 am at the Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour. Jeannette’s funeral will then proceed to Good Shepard Church- St. Nicholas Parish, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
