Joan M. Seaman

Joan Margaret Edwards Seaman (“Gram, Grandma Joan”) age 92, resident of Seymour, CT passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, at Shady Knoll Healthcare.

Joan was born on December 6, 1931, in Liverpool, England. She was the daughter of the late Robert Edwards and the late Anne Currie Edwards.

In her younger years, Joan enjoyed traveling and eating great food. She loved spending time with her family and made an abundance of friends over the years. She will be missed by many.

Joan is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Magda (David), son Andrew C. Seaman Jr., sister “Dot” McCoy (Paul), grandchildren Alan R. Brown (Amy), David J. Magda (Kimberly), Joseph Seaman, and Christina Patchell (Tim), great-grandchildren Chelsie Labrecque (Luke), Christiana Rivera-Magda (Jay), and Taylor Brown (Maria), Kayla Patchell, Brooklyn Magda, and Noah Magda, great-great granddaughter Ellie Grajalez, and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by son Joseph R. Seaman, granddaughter Jennifer Brown, and several brothers and sisters.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Shady Knoll Healthcare staff, with a special acknowledgment to "Angie" for her unwavering support as one of Joan's closest companions, a caring roommate, and an integral part of our family. Interment and Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
