Jo-Ann Gosk, age 80, of Oxford, the beloved wife of 57 years of Gene Gosk, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in West Rutland, Vermont on May 7, 1932 daughter of the late Peter and Ella Gilligan. Jo-Ann was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her beloved Boston Red Sox baseball and UCONN Huskie basketball teams. Jo-Ann especially loved watching and cheering for her grandchildren at all of their sport games and events. She greatly enjoyed many family trips and vacations, especially to Niagara Falls, Disney World and Las Vegas. Above all, Jo-Ann was happiest when she was spending time with her family. In addition to her beloved husband Gene, Jo-Ann's family includes her caring son Eugene J. Gosk of Oxford, her devoted daughters Debra Anderson and her husband Charles of Oxford and Lori-Ann Gies and her husband James of Oxford, her beloved brother George Gilligan of Columbia, CT, her loving sisters Lorraine Davine of Rutland, VT and Laurie Francoeur of Oxford, her cherished grandchildren Stephanie, Jim and Kyle and her adored great-grandson Hunter. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, all family members and especially her caregiver Regina Rogalska. Jo-Ann was predeceased by her sisters Alice LaJoice and Betty Dzubek and her brothers James Gilligan and Raymond Gilligan. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Jo-Ann's Life will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford with The Reverend Dominic Valla, Pastor as celebrant. Interment in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour will follow. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, (Route 67, opposite Klarides Village), Seymour.
