John Anthony DeAngelis, Sr., age 79, of Southbury, formerly of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at St. Mary Hospital, Waterbury, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Westchester, PA on August 30, 1931, son of the late Lorenzo and Tecla Laurenzi DeAngelis. John was the retired President of Connecticut Test Borings, Inc. and American Self Storage, both of Seymour. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a Third Class Petty Officer with the Seabees. John attended the Church of the Good Shepherd, was an avid golfer and enjoyed his home in Mt. Dora, FL. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. John's loving family includes his sons John Anthony. DeAngelis, Jr. and his wife Susan of Seymour and Christian Michael DeAngelis and his wife Virginia of Oxford, his daughters Debra Aldo of Seymour and Andrea DeAngelis Vereneau and her husband Raymond of Bethany, his brothers Dino DeAngelis of Seymour and Virginio DeAngelis of New Mexico, his companion Shirley Schofield of Southbury, his ten cherished grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson Ronald Aldo, Jr., his two brothers Robert DeAngelis and Lawrence DeAngelis. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment in Mt. Saint Peter Cemetery, Derby, with fully Military Honors accorded, will follow. There will be no visitation.
