John "Jack" Elmer Tottenham, age 72, of Seymour, the beloved husband of Charlotte Westenfelder Tottenham, entered into rest peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Griffin Hospital. He was born in Derby on March 28, 1939, son of the late Elmer and Grace Andrews Tottenham. Jack was a long time Seymour resident and was a graduate of Seymour High School Class of 1957. He was the owner and operator for many years of Jack's Super Service in New Haven and later in life, was the owner of Milford Blue Print. Jack enjoyed working in his garage and around his home, especially in his garden and loved the wildlife in the area. He was President of his local bowling league and enjoyed the time he spent at both the Oxford Senior Center and the Ansonia Senior Center, where he loved to shoot pool. Jack will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. His loving family in addition to his wife Charlotte includes his devoted son Patrick Tottenham and his wife Christy of Beacon Falls, his four loving daughters Ann Tottenham Lisa and her husband Petr of Ansonia, Dr. Teresa Sivers and her husband Mark of Florida, Dr. Nim Delafield and her husband Joseph of California and Dr. Dawn Tottenham of Stony Brook, LI, his three caring step children Raymond Duplessie and his wife Danielle, Paul Duplessie and Christina Duplessie and her companion Patrick Campion, his two caring brothers James Tottenham and his wife Terry of Oxford and Peter Tottenham and his wife Lanita of Virginia, his two loving sisters Mary Haller of North Carolina and Melissa Drozd and her husband Gary of Seymour, his two beloved sisters-in-law Elizabeth Tottenham and Rita Tottenham, his eight cherished grandchildren Michael, Sage, William, Josephine, Beatrice, Grace, Audrey, Carmella and Ella and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Jeffrey Paul Tottenham, Sr. and Joel Tottenham and a sister, Jill Drown. A Prayer Service in Celebration of Jack's life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10:00 am in the chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Rt. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 25 Great Hill Road, Oxford. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jack's memory may be made to The Greater Valley Salvation Army, 26 Lester Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.
