Joseph W. Masi, age 85, of Newtown, the beloved husband of 63 years to Lucille Carlucci Masi, entered into eternal rest peacefully, with his loving family by his side on Friday, August 19, 2016. He was born in Port Chester, NY on September 12, 1930, the loving son of the late Angelo and Angelina Cardell Masi. Joe proudly served his country as a member of both the United States Army and the United States Marines. He was a self employed Mason, a past president of the Croton Falls, NY Fire Department and a former Supernumerary for the North Salem, NY Police Department. After his retirement, Joe and Lucille moved from North Salem to Jupiter, FL where they enjoyed 20 years prior to moving to Newtown in 2012. Joe was an avid painter who also loved to draw. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and many friends. Joe will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. His beloved family in addition to his wife Lucille includes his two caring daughters JoAnne Dardani (George) of Ravena, NY and Mary Lou Pierce of Oxford, his four loving grandchildren Michael Pierce (Shannon), Christopher Pierce (Laura), Stephanie D'Esposito and Matthew Dardani (Melanie) and his seven cherished great grandchildren Claire, Nora, Kylie, Mikayla, Gabriella, Doug and Erika. Joe was predeceased by his loving son in law Gregory Pierce, his loving sister Mary Narbero, and his loving grandson in law Richard "RJ" D'Esposito. Memory gifts in Joe's memory may be made to The American Heart Association.
