Joyce A. Sauer

Joyce A. Sauer, age 96, a lifelong Seymour resident, entered into rest on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was born in Seymour on August 16, 1921, the daughter of the late Frederick Sr. and Magdalene Hagemann Sauer. Joyce was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford. She retired after 40 years of employment with the Atlantic Ridgefield Company of Waterbury as Communication Manager. Joyce enjoyed being with her family and friends. She loved to garden and collect stamps. Joyce will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. Her loving family includes several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers Adolph, Frederick Jr., O. Eugene and Henry Sauer, and her three sisters Lena Fitzgerald, Katherine Boucher and Florence Sauer. The family of Joyce Sauer wish to thank the compassionate staff of the Lutheran Home of Southbury for their exceptional care of Joyce. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Joyce's Life will be held in the chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Niki Harvell, Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford officiating. Interment in the family plot at Trinity Cemetery in Seymour will follow.
