Lawrence J. Argonese, age 77, of Oxford, passed away on 03/23/20 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Kelly Argonese for 48 years. Born to Lawrence and Phyllis Grosso Argonese on Oct 12, 1942 in Bridgeport, Ct. Larry resided in Bridgeport and Stratford for most of his life before settling in Oxford fourteen years ago. He attended Bullard Technical School. Larry was retired from Unifirst Corp and Mackenzie Painting Co. He was the Secretary of the Stoneybrook Oldtimers Club and also played softball for the Stoneybrook Oldtimers Team. He was a loyal fan of the N.Y. Jets and the N.Y. Yankees and enjoyed watching both. He enjoyed doing the Daily Crossword puzzle and cherished his time spent with family. He will fondly be remembered as a kind and easy going man. In addition to his devoted wife Cathy, he is survived by his beloved son Christopher and wife Becky of Oxford. His cherished grandchildren Christopher, Gabriella and Brooke. Also his sister-in-law Patricia Inman, Brothers-in-law Robert Kelly (Gloria), John Kelly and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Larry is predeceased by his son Frank Argonese and daughter Laurine Argonese. Brothers-in-law Kevin Kelly and Joseph Inman. The family wishes to thank the CT Hospice Center for the exceptional care given to Larry and family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Larry's memory be made to the CT Hospice Center, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, Ct. Due to the current Coronavirus restrictions all services will be private.
