Lawrence "Larry" Wedler

Lawrence "Larry" Wedler, 71, of Wolcott, CT passed away on October 15, 2022. He was born in the Bronx on March 6, 1951, son of the late Lawrence Wedler Sr. and Madeline Wedler (Duonola). He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War receiving his honorable discharge in 1971. He had many interests, including reading, playing chess, and bocce with his buddies at West Haven beach. His interest in and knowledge of history and politics was second to none. He had a strong love for music and never went anywhere without his little radio. His passion for sports was unmatched, fervently following his beloved NY sports teams, especially the Mets, watching the entire 162 game season faithfully. He had a strong faith in God and was a devout Catholic his entire life. Certainly his greatest joy came from being with family. He will be sadly missed, but will remain forever in our hearts. Survivors include his loving family including four children, Mary Lynn Wedler Yennie of Dexter, Maine, Michael (Laci) Wedler of Wolcott, CT, Donna (Jason) Costello of Oxford, CT and Angela Sarti of Wolcott, CT. Seven cherished grandchildren, Alysha Wedler, Aaliyah Yennie, Shawn Yennie, Jorge Sarti, Dylan Sarti, Kayla Costello, Grace Costello. Survivors also include his dear friend Priscilla Bock, many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Church, 14 Gleneida Ave. Carmel, NY on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10:30 am.
