Lee McLellan, age 93 a resident of Oxford,Ct., passed away at home on April 22, 2024 . Lee was born December 3, 1930 in Orrum, North Carolina. He was the son of Aretha McQueen, he served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a medic and received a Purple Heart for his valor.


Lee is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Janet McLellan. He is also survived by his son Michael (Amber) Hurt; daughter Marilyn (Roy) Harrison; step sons Bill and Daniel (Kelly) McMillen; brother George (Nell) McLellan. Lee leaves behind his grandchildren Christiana, Matthew, Chanequa and Danielle as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Rick and his daughter Theresa.


Lee was a man with many talents, most of them self taught. He used his skilled hands to help others, to create and to share. Lee was an avid gardener, a skilled woodworker and he could fix just about anything needing attention. He spent many hours at the Oxford Senior Center, always wearing a smile and always ready for a good game of pool with his buddies.


Lee leaves us all with his important legacy “to be optimistic.”


Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at the Miller-Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour, Ct. 06483. A Service in Celebration of Lee’s life will immediately follow at 2:30 pm at the funeral home.
