Lucy Niezelski

Lucy Niezelski, age 90, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Joseph Niezelski, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Mary Hospital, Waterbury. She was born in Derby, CT on December 15, 1924 daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Maciocca Staffieri. Lucy was a long time resident of Seymour. A loving mother, grandmother and homemaker, her hobbies included gardening, crocheting and knitting and reading cookbooks. She was a lover of all animals especially her cat, Louis. Lucy will be sadly missed by all and will forever be in our hearts. Lucy's loving family includes her son Joseph Niezelski and his wife Suani of Seymour, her daughter Marilyn Horlacher and her husband William of Woodbridge, her brother Dominic Staffieri and his wife Marcy, her sister Helen Poliferno, her sister-in-law Charlotte Koslowski, her brother-in-law Thomas Niezelski, her three cherished grandchildren Joseph, Frank, and Shannon and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Ellen Allison and her brothers Thomas and Leonard Staffieri. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Lucy's life will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village) Seymour. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the start of the service at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit at St. Mary Hospital, 56 Franklin Street, Waterbury, CT 06706.
