Margaret Conlan

Margaret McCarthy Conlan, age 85, of Oxford, the beloved wife of 64 years to Mortimer Conlan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Meelin, Co. Cork Ireland and immigrated to Bridgeport in the 1950's where she raised her nine children. She worked at 3030 Park as a caregiver for many years before moving to Oxford in 2003. Margaret loved cooking, spending time with her family, being outside enjoying nature, and telling stories. One of her most cherished traditions was going to the Catskill Mountains every summer to enjoy traditional Irish music and dancing. Margaret will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts. Her loving family in addition to her husband Mortimer, includes her nine children, Joan (Dan) Hemperly, Mary Anne (Jim) Brown, Mortimer (Ingrid) Conlan, Patricia (Pat) Kelley, Margaret (Timothy) Speer, Daniel (Danielle) Conlan, Susan (Rafal) Wisniewski, Thomas (Ashley) Conlan, Clare Conlan, her sixteen grandchildren Dan (Brooke), Patrick(Jamie), Matthew (Summer), DJ, Michael (Christina),Timothy, Jack, John, Billy, Sean, Clare, Meghan, Katie, Hannah, Bryn, Jake and three great-grandchildren Bree, Mackenna, and Everly. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Margaret's live will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road in Oxford. Interment in the family plot will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery on Harvester Road in Easton. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday morning from 8:30 am until 10:00 am at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) in Seymour.
