Marie Clancy

Marie McCarthy Clancy, age 90, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late John D. Clancy, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Griffin Hospital. Marie was born October 7, 1922 in Ansonia, to the late Michael and Mary O'Brien McCarthy. She was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church. Marie worked for SNET in New Haven for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the AT&T Pioneers and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was also was a member of the YMCA and enjoyed going as much as possible. Marie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family includes a loving son Edward Clancy and his spouse Arthur Samuelson, Jr. of Seymour, a devoted daughter Kathleen Clancy and her husband Vincent Iannaccone of Seymour, two loving granddaughters Erin Gizzo and her husband Joseph, and Nora Iannaccone and her husband, Victorio Camacho all of San Diego,Ca., three cherished great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen McCabe and her brother John McCarthy. A Funeral Service is Celebration of Marie's life will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 9:45 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 am at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour will be held in the spring. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Marie's memory to St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour, CT 06483 or to the charity of one's choice.
