Maria "Marie" (Alves) Costello April 3, 1947 - February 3, 2018 Marie Costello, age 70, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 3, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Marie was born on April 3, 1947 in Bridgeport, CT. She was the only daughter of the late Bento and Louisa Alves. She is survived by her son, Jason Costello and his wife Donna of Naugatuck and her son, Shaun Costello of Bridgeport; she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Aidan Costello and Kayla Costello. Marie grew up in Bridgeport, CT and graduated from Central High School, class of 1965. She excelled at school and took college level courses all four years of high school. After high school Marie studied business at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT then transferred to Butler Business School in Bridgeport where she graduated. After completing her education, Marie worked at Avco in Stratford, CT for 13 years as an executive assistant before transitioning to the most difficult and rewarding job, a stay at home mom. She raised her family in Seymour, CT and was an active member of the community and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Her faith, family, friends and her dog "Rambo" were most important to her. Marie was a spiritual person and proud of her Portuguese heritage. A celebration of Marie's life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 1:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. at Santos Restaurant, 152 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT. Marie's family is forever grateful to the team of doctors and nurses at Yale Smilow Hospital for the loving and supportive care over the past couple of years.
