Mary C. Paulishen, age 87, of New Haven, formerly of Seymour, beloved wife of the late John M. Paulishen, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ansonia on July 7, 1926, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anna Dunn Condon, Sr. Mary was a retired Elementary School Teacher with the Seymour Board of Education where she had taught for 40 years. She was a graduate of Assumption School, Ansonia High School and New Haven State Teacher's College, earning a degree in Elementary Education. Mary was a member of the Friends of the Seymour Public Library, the Seymour Land Trust and the Seymour Historical Society. She also taught quilting at the Derby Senior Center and enjoyed reading. Mary was a former member of the Board of Education for Assumption School in Ansonia. She will be sadly missed by all. Mary's loving family includes her caring son Jack Paulishen and his wife Michelle of New Haven, her loving daughters Ann-Marie Spakowski and her husband Thomas of Belair, MD and Janet Weber and her husband Robert of Burlington, CT, her beloved brother Thomas J. Condon, her five cherished grandchildren Kristin Burrows, Timothy Spakowski, Casey Weber, Jason Weber, Jackson Paulishen, her four cherished great grand children Delaney, Mia, Gabriella and Domenica and several loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Mary's life will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 8:30 in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption Church, 61 North Cliff Street, Ansonia, CT 06401 at 9:30 am. Interment in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery Seymour will follow. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in Mary's memory may be made to The Assumption School, 51 North Cliff Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.
