Mary Koretz Stebar, age 93, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Stanley "George" Stebar, entered into rest peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Seymour on November 19, 1917, beloved daughter of the late Harry and Mary Koretz. Mary was a lifelong resident of Seymour and was a member of the Three Saints Orthodox Church of Ansonia. She was an Assembler for Uniroyal for 33 years and in her free time she loved to crochet. Mary will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her loving family includes her two caring sons Ronald S. Stebar and his wife Marilyn of Oxford and Thomas D. Stebar of Seymour, her devoted sisters Pauline Chesnutis of Orlando, Florida and Elizabeth Dullard of Waterbury, her cherished grandchildren Bonnie Segit of Cooperstown, NY, Jacqueline McDonnell and her husband Matthew of Oxford and Laura Burr and her husband Jerry of Oxford and her 11 cherished great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her sister Helen Konavage. A Funeral Mass in Celebration of Mary's Life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 DIRECTLY at 10:00 am at Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave, Ansonia. Interment in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour, will follow. Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Mary's memory may be made to either the Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave, Ansonia, CT 06401 or to the Lutheran Home of Southbury, 990 Main Street, Southbury, CT 06488.
