Michael Briggs, Jr.

Michael Briggs Jr Age 61 of Seymour, CT passed away August 11th with his loving family at his side.

Born 9/24/1962 in Oxford, CT son of the late Michael and Della Briggs Sr he was the adoring husband and father to wife JoAnn, sons Michael Briggs III and Jack Briggs of Seymour and daughter Mallory Briggs (Jesse) of Oxford

Mike enjoyed his annual salmon fishing trips with his father and sons, and the many weekend excursions with some of his best friends to Rhode Island and Saratoga. He enjoyed his “Seafood Fest” extravaganzas. Mike was a proud Seymour Wildcat and a member of the Wildcat football program’s first state championship team. He went on to play football at Avon Old Farms and UMASS. He was a Seymour Soccer, Little League, and Pop Warner Coach for many years. Mike had a larger-than-life personality and a big booming voice. He made friends wherever he went, and you always knew when he was in a room. Mike was a Norwood’s Athletic Club member where he leaves many dear friends.

Mike also leaves behind sister Michelle (Paul) Sharry of Scituate MA. brother-in-law Robert (Jennifer) Madigosky of Ft Myers Florida and Allen Madigosky of Seymour. sister-in-law Denise Madigosky of Lancaster, SC. Nieces and Nephews Morgan, MecKenzie , Nicholas and Christoper

Mike also leaves behind all the animals JoAnn and Mallory brought home that he didn’t want but learned to love.

Thank you to his many close friends who were always there for him.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in the chapel of The Miller-Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour. Interment will follow immediately in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour,Ct.
