N. Thomas Husted, age 74, of Bethlehem, formerly of Oxford, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital. He was born in Meriden on June 10, 1937, son of the late Town of Oxford First Selectman Norman W. Husted and Vivian Dains Husted. Tom was a member of the Oxford United Church of Christ-Congregational. He was formerly the Head Teller at the Winsted Savings Bank, an actor and stage manager for Jacobs Pillow of Lee, MA for many years and was a member of the Home Care Services Staff of the Litchfield Nurses Registry. Tom also loved the time he spent working for Guido's Grocery Store. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during peacetime, serving in the Intelligence Department in England, Turkey, Texas and Biloxi, MS. Tom loved working on his parent's farm, Middlebrook Farm of Oxford. He loved opera and the theater, was an actor and enjoyed all aspects of stage production. He took singing lessons from Carmen Congdon of Oxford. His loving family includes his beloved sister Carol Husted Zwick of Oxford. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dr. Bonnie Bardot, Interim Pastor of the Oxford United Church of Christ-Congregational officiating. Interment in Southford Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
