Patricia Elaine Lesiw

Patricia Elaine Lesiw, of Seymour, the beloved wife of 63 years of Rev. Russell Lesiw, entered into rest peacefully at her home on Monday, October 12, 2020. She was born in Westfield, Maine on August 10, 1932, beloved daughter of the late Ruth and Harley Shaw. After graduating from Presque Isle High School, Maine, Patricia pursued a Nursing Program at St. Vincent's School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1957. Her first Nursing position was at the Veterans Hospital. Years later, she took a Registered Nursing position at Griffin Hospital located in Derby. Patricia also served on the Valley Parish Nursing Program for 26 years and was one of the original nurses. In 1974, Patricia and her husband Russell founded the Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church, located at 104 Mountain Road in Seymour. She played a very active role in the church and served in the following ministries: Sunday School Program, Choir Director and the Summer Vacation Bible School Program. In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed singing with the Valley Barber Shop Sweet Adelines chorus and participated in many chorus competitions spanning over a decade. In addition, she was also a dedicated costume seamstress for the Sweet Adelines. Most of all, Patricia loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts. Patricia's loving family, in addition to her beloved husband Russell includes her four children, Daniel and his wife Kimberly of Norton, MA, Doreen Russell of Pottstown, PA, Paul and his wife Lynne of Monroe and Darlene and Buz of Beacon Falls, her brother Marvin Shaw and his wife Clairis of Mystic and her cherished grandchildren Adam and Alexandra Lesiw of Norton, MA, Jesse Lesiw of Beacon Falls, Jonah Lesiw of Monroe and Samuel Russell of Pottstown, PA. She was predeceased by her sister Gwendolyn McEntee and her brother Robert Shaw. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Patricia's memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Shelton, 178 Leavenworth Road, Shelton, CT 06484.
