Patricia Emily Rimkunas
April 8, 1958 — January 29, 2025
Patricia Emily Rimkunas, 66 years old, of Seymour, Ct., passed away on Jan. 29th 2025 at Griffin Hospital. Patty was born in Derby at Griffin Hospital on April 8th 1958. She was the daughter of Michael Fadden and Florence Winters. Patty attended Lopresti Elementry School and Seymour Middle School. For High School she attended Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden.After high school she attended and graduated from the College of New Rochelle and also took classes in Spain at the Universidad de Salamanca. She received a Masters of ArtsDegree at Ashford University.
She worked for SNET for 13 years, starting on the old pegboard, where she got the nick name Peggy, and later moved up to Service Rep.She later worked at the Derby YMCA as a Day Care Instructor.
Singing was always a part of her life. At SNET she sang with the TELSO choir. And later, proud of her German Heritage she sang with the Arbeiter Mannerchor in West Haven ,where she met her future husband who sang with the Harugari Liedertafle also in West Haven. All the German Club choirs in Connecticut were celebrating Germans being in America for 300 Years. She also sang in rock bands and Community Theater. She became a Cantor at St Augustine’s in Seymour, where she sang for over 20 years. She also was a regular Soloist at the Seymour Memorial Day Parade and Veterans Day Memorials.
Patty also Home Schooled her son Thomas and in her spare time was a yoga instructor.
She is survived by her husband Walter and son Thomas.She is predeceased by her mother and father and her brothers Thomas and Michael.
She also leaves behind her fur babies Honey, Princess Fluff, Olive, Felix, and Krackle.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. Seymour.Ct. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Church- St.Nicholas Parish 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour,Ct. Interment will be held in the Spring in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery,Seymour.
