Regina Catherine Danehy Maloney, 86, of Oxford, beloved wife of John F. Maloney, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 4, at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Haven, on May 12, 1925, daughter of the late Benjamin J. and Helen Barry Danehy. She was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Regina was a graduate of Southern Connectifut State College. She was a substitute teacher for many years for the West Haven Board of Education. Regina loved to travel, was an avid reader, and enjoyed the landscape of her property, especially her flowers. She had been a resident of Oxford for 40 years, previously residing in West Haven. Her loving family, in addition to her husband, John, includes her beloved son, John B.Maloney and his wife, Karen, of Beacon Falls; her caring daughters, Megan Wallian and her companion, Kirk Maxwell, of Oxford, and Kathleen Maloney of Oxford; her loving brother, James Danehy of West Haven; four cherished grandchildren, John B. Maloney, Erin Wallian, Diane Maloney, Patrick Maloney; four cherished great grandchildren, Chloe Maloney, Chase Ruskowski, Gabriel Collins, and Jack Maloney; and many nieces and nephews. Regina was predeceased by her son-in-law, Thomas J. Wallian, and two brothers, Benjamin Danehy,. Jr. and Joseph Danehy. A Funeral Service in celebration of Regina's life will be held on THURSDAY, June 9, at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Route 67, opposite Klarides Village) Seymour, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd 135 Mountain Road, Seymour, with Father Edward Jaksina, officiating. Interment will be in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetey, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home on WEDNESDAY evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy in Regina's memory may be made to The Town of Oxford Dog Shelter, through the Funeral Director.
