Rosine Walz, 96, of Hamden, CT, beloved wife of the late Albert Walz, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 24, 2014 peacefully at the Arden House Nursing Home of Hamden. She was born in Germany on April 23, 1917 and emigrated to the United Sates with her husband and five children in 1952. Rosine lived with her family in West Haven while employed at C. Cowles & Company of New Haven. Upon her retirement, Rosine and Albert moved to Oxford where they enjoyed many happy retirement years together. After her beloved husband passed away in 1995, Rosine decided to move to Hamden to be closer to her children. Rosine was an active member of the Harugari Singing Society in West Haven and the Harugari Schuhplattler Verein Bavaria. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends at the Harugari Club. She is survived by her five children, Richard Walz (Christa Jordan) of Hamden, CT, Ewald Walz (Hildegard) of Willimantic, CT, Anna Heise (Herbert) of Spring Hill, FL, Emma Walz-Vaitkus (Kastytis Vaitkus) of East Haven, CT and Erika Walz (Jack McManus) of Lehigh Acres, FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren, David Heise (Carmella) of Hamden, CT, Christina Ables (Aaron) of Webster, FL, Tanya Walz of Coventry, CT, Heather Walz of Alamogordo, NM, and five loving great grandchildren. Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour, CT on Thursday, March 27 from 4:00-7:00 PM. All other services will be private. The family would like to thank the Life Choice Hospice of Connecticut and the Arden House Nursing Home of Hamden for their compassion, empathy and care of Rosine during her time of need.
