RJ Lorenzi of Southbury CT., passed away Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 with his wife Starr, by his side. RJ was born in Gloversville, NY in 1945. The youngest child of John Lorenzi and Hazel "Toots" Taylor. Attended schools in Gloversville, NY and earned a degree in Accounting at Dutchess Community College. RJ was blessed with two children from a previous marriage. At a very young age, RJ set high standards of achievement for himself, earning top sales records at Burroughs Corporation, New York. His love of boating on the Hudson River with his family, led him to Florida where he started his new career in the construction industry. After obtaining his Florida general contractor's license, he went from home improvements to building shopping centers. He designed and built over 200 custom homes in New York, Florida and Connecticut. A broker of real estate in Florida, Connecticut and Colorado. Co-owner with his wife Starr Lorenzi, Carliftsplus.com was founded and continues providing high-end garage modifications and car lifts for both residential and commercial applications throughout the tri-state area and beyond. RJ enjoyed a wide variety of sports from under sea diving to mountaintop skiing. He was an avid golfer, a member of Pomperaug Golf Club, and a NASCAR fan. Besides his wife of 41 years, Starr Lorenzi, he leaves his beloved daughter, Kari Lorenzi of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his sister, Eleanor Lorenzi, his nephew, Ben MacMaster of Ottawa Ontario Canada, and his nephew Matthew Funicello of Glens Falls, NY. He was pre-deceased by his son, Christopher Lorenzi. RJ was a hard-worker, an honest man, a devoted husband and father. An easy-going, fun-loving, forgiving man of faith. RJ often shared his firm conviction of sharing eternity with his Lord Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Southbury Food Bank. P.O. Box 68, Southbury CT 06488 A family memorial is planned to be held in Glens Falls NY at a future date.
