Shirley Connors

Shirley Elaine Connors, age 66, of Derby, entered into rest peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Milford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Derby on May 5, 1944, daughter of the late Walter and Estelle Richie Hyman. Shirley was a long time Seymour resident, who moved to Derby in 2005. She was a Hair Dresser at the Haiport Salon of Seymour for over 30 years. Shirley enjoyed traveling with her sisters, trips to the casino and spending time with family in Rhode Island, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Shirley's loving family includes her daughters Susan DeMatties, Deborah Connors and Shari Connors, her sisters Verna Kusterer, Carol Lynch, Elizabeth Pacheco and June LeJa, her 9 grandchildren Melissa, Megan, Harley, Donny, Rachael, Joshua, Anthony, Jessica and Jerrica, her two great grandchildren Alex and Connor, several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins, her Hairport family and her special friends at Hallocks Landing. She was predeceased by her former husband of 30 years Donald P. Connors and her daughter Denise Connors. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 6:30 pm in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village) Seymour with the Rev. Russell Lesiw, officiating. Interment will be in the Spring at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 pm until the start of the service at 6:30 pm.
