Sieka Jimmo Sieko Jimmo, 65, of Seymour, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on June 28, 1945, daughter of the late Jacob and Janita Kram Roozendaal. She was educated in Amsterdam, receiving a certificate in child development. Over the years Sieko worked in many places in the area, most recently at Prudential Annuities, Shelton, as a Receptionist. On January 20, 1973 she married Elwin Jimmo in Woodbury, CT. Her many civic activities include being a member of Seymour Congregational Church, where she was also a choir member and served as a Deacon of the Church. Sieko was a committee member of Scouting Troop #3, where she worked on several fundraising events. She was an area coordinator for TOPS for many years, traveling all over the US and Canada. She also loved visiting wineries and being with her family and friends. In addition to her devoted husband, she leaves three beloved sons, Erik, and his wife, Tammy and his family of Waterbury, CT, Andre, and his wife, Amy, of Seymour, and Pieter of Seymour; her cherished grandchildren, Caine, Jimmo, Linda Jimmo and Erik Jimmo; two loving sisters, Ria and her husband, Sydney Wachtel of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Julia and her husband, Thomas Marinkovic, of France; and her extended family, Marion Jimmo of Tampa, FL; Carolyn Cushing of Monkton, VT; Laura and Frank Provost of Colchester, VT; Leon and Dixie Lestage of Hinesburg, VT. She also leaves Sarah Frager of Beacon Falls. In addition to her parents, Sieko was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Alene Jimmo, her father-in-law, Henry Jimmo, her brothers-in-law Roger Jimmo and Frank Cushing. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Sieko's life will be held on SATURDAY, December 11 at 10:30 am DIRECTLY at Seymour Congregational Church, 15 Broad Street, Seymour, CT, with the Rev. Greg Dawson, Pastor, officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday, December 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Route 67 - across from Klarides Village) FRIDAY 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Huntington, VT, will be private and at the convenience of the family.
