Stephen Kobasa

Stephen Kobasa, 93, a resident of the Mary Wade Home of New Haven, formerly of Seymour, the beloved husband of the late Vincentina (Tina) Impellitteri Kobasa, entered into eternal rest, peacefully, at his residence on, Saturday December 10, 2011. He was born in Ansonia on January 8, 1918, beloved son of the late Seman and Mary Shebashovich Kobasa. He was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church of Ansonia. Steve was a retired long-time employee of the Kerite Company of Seymour, where he had been a wire inspector. He was a US Army Air Force veteran of World War II and saw action in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Republican Town Committee and a former member of the Seymour Historical Society. Steve was an avid golfer and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. His loving family includes his caring sons, Stephen Vincent Kobasa, and his wife, Anne Somsel, of New Haven and Paul Anton Kobasa of Chicago, IL; two cherished granddaughters, Clare Kobasa of NYC, NY and Rachel Kobasa of Haverford, PA. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Milton Kobasa. A Funeral Service will be held in Steve's memory on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 9:00 am at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Rte. 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Drive, Ansonia. Entombment in the family mausoleum at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. There will be no visitation.
